If your books are months behind, the scariest part isn't the work, it's that nobody will tell you the price. Here's how cleanup is priced across the market in 2026, with real ranges, and exactly what we charge. We're The Relief Pros, QuickBooks Online specialists in Frisco, Texas.
Updated August 2026. Every number visible without a sales call. The three ways cleanup gets priced
Our number
Our standard rate for a cleanup is $1,750. While we're a young firm building our Frisco client base, the price is $1,000 flat for books up to six months behind, and every quote is written before we start and good for 60 days. More than six months behind? Still flat, still in writing, priced by what's actually involved.
What the flat fee buys: every backlogged transaction categorized, every bank and credit card account reconciled to the actual statements, duplicates and miscategorized history fixed, and a P&L and balance sheet you can finally trust, delivered with a plain-words summary of what we found. We take a maximum of three cleanup projects a month so none of them get rushed.
The full service details live on our catch-up bookkeeping page. And if you're comparing monthly bookkeeping prices too, we published the whole market picture on our Texas bookkeeping cost guide.
Why the market spread is so huge
"Cleanup" has no fixed definition, which is how one owner pays $400 and another pays $8,000 for what sounds like the same thing. The price differences come from real questions: How many months? How many accounts? Are the statements available? Is history miscategorized or just missing? Does the file need repair, or does it need to be rebuilt? A firm quoting without asking these questions is guessing, and open-ended hourly billing means their guess becomes your problem.
One more honest thing most firms won't say: sometimes the right answer is a fresh QuickBooks file, not a cleanup. If the file is beyond saving, starting over is genuinely cheaper. We'll tell you which side of that line you're on before you pay anyone anything. That advice costs nothing and it will save you real money.
Cleanup cost questions
Market-wide: hourly commonly runs $50–$100+ an hour open-ended, per-month-behind services commonly charge $195–$495 per month of history, and published project fees in our area run as high as $7,500–$10,000. Ours is $1,000 flat for books up to six months behind, quoted in writing first.
Every backlogged transaction categorized, every account reconciled to the actual statements, duplicates and miscategorizations fixed, and finished financial statements you can trust. If it doesn't end in reconciled accounts, it wasn't a cleanup.
Up to six months behind: typically about two weeks from the day we get access to your QuickBooks Online file and statements. We cap cleanup projects at three per month so nothing gets rushed.
Still a flat, written quote, priced by the months and accounts involved, good for 60 days. Never open-ended hourly.
Sometimes yes, and we'll tell you honestly when starting fresh beats repairing. That call costs you nothing.
Tell us how many months behind and how many accounts. You'll get a flat, written quote, and an honest answer if a cleanup isn't what you need. We reply within one business day.
